What is a raincheck?
You went to the store and they are all out of the products you just intended to buy? Maybe you don’t have time to go back in time before the advertised offer is over or maybe it will end the next day. You ask yourself if you will now miss out on a great deal? No worries, there is still a way to get the discount at a later time. If you are lucky you might even get a better deal (with better coupons) at a later point…
So, what do you do? Well, first you need to ask the store clerk if they have any additional products in the back or on a shelf you might have missed. If that is not the case, ask for a raincheck! A raincheck is a small piece of paper that the clerk or the store manager will fill out for you. With that valuable piece of paper you can go back to the store at a later time and get the same item for the currently advertised price. Some of these rainchecks have an expiration date (e.g. 60 days) and others won’t expire. Hence, make sure you’ll check with your store before you put them in your filing system. Also, remember to ask the store clerk or manager how many rainchecks you can get? They typically ask you back: “well, how many do you need?”…
Good luck with your rainchecks!
